Web Development


I

started developing websites  in 1994, both the front-end and the back-end. I developed small to medium sites for small businesses, and eventually was employed by Sun Microsystems to work on their java.sun.com site. Now, I am a technical writer for Sun, a community manager for three of Sun's hub sites, and continue web development on the side.

Responsiblities

  • Gather requirements from client(s)
  • Create wireframes based on requirements
  • Web design features
  • Set up server directiories and programs
  • Implement UI code, as well as backend applications

  • Simple sites to thrive merely as a contact point
  • Commerce sites that sell services and products
  • Information sites that host articles and updates, forums, blogs, and newsletters

I code by hand where needed, and I also use tools such as:

  • NetBeans IDE

Graphic Design

In addition, I do graphic design for web and print mediums, and have experience with the following applications:
