Cool Quote

"Live as if you were to die tomorrow, learn as if you were to live forever."
-- Gandhi

Technical Writing

I started writing about technical topics, such as computing, for general magazines. After I learned web programming, I went to work for Sun Microsystems. I then learned Java programming, and was promoted to technical writer, and wrote for java.sun.com for 10 years.

Much of what I wrote were tutorials, articles, marketing materials, and blogs. I've also written:

  • Procedures
  • Company Overviews
  • Software Overviews
  • Marketing Materials

I've worked in both Unix and Windows environments, and used an assortment of software for writing and formatting documentation, such as Word, StarOffice, Framemaker, and InDesign. For illustrations and diagrams I generally use Photoshop, Visio, or Illustrator. I also know how to use RoboHelp and want to write Help files for software.

I enjoy learning new technologies, programming, using software, and being challenged.
